A new blog

Well, I think the time has come. I am moving on.

The Awesome Blog is finally shutting down. It has been a good ride. I have enjoy most of it and I will be sad. But do not fear internet, I will still be posting my thoughts to the internet. I will always blog. I am just relocating.  I have started a blog with Ben Davey. Yes, I know this is how this one originally started. But the focus on this new one is different. We have different goals, better goals.

Some time later

It's been almost a year since I have posted on here. It's not that I haven't wanted to but that I just haven't remembered too. And as I sit here at this tower site waiting for Dave the Rigger, a legendary creature of sorts, to come back down the tower. I figured I would kill some time, and bugs.

(Don't worry, I've emptied my queue of help desk tickets already.)

Speaking of help desk tickets. There have been some major changes in my life in the last year. For starters, last time I posted I was still working for APPless IT. I am now currently working for NetSpectrum. We provide internet to rural areas and I don't really feel like explaining how it all works here. That is why I linked the website.

And in bigger news, I bought a house! Yeah, it's basically the best and you should come visit me. I really do love living on my own. I get to poop with the door open and I don't have to vacuum every week(Sorry Mom).

Now just to clear some things up. My house is NOT a mess. There might be some dust or a little dirt on the floor, but it is quite a tidy place and you'd feel comfortable sleeping there(I have two pull out couches, come visit me). Ask anyone who has been there.

As for the food situation. I am an awesome cook. My casseroles are amazing. My breakfasts are top notch. And my BBQ is nearly perfect. Trust me. This isn't to say that I don't miss my mothers cooking, I do. But I can come in a close second, maybe third. I'll give second place to my Dad.

Eel Fishing 101

This is my fifth year being a commercial eel fishermen. You'd think after four years I'd have learned my lesson and found a new career path.

I can't talk to much about how this season is going catch wise. I have been sworn to secrecy. But what I can tell you is that I am enjoying this season a whole lot more then I did last year. Everything is running better and the attitude around here is a whole lot more upbeat.

Now normally I'm not allowed to post photos of me on the job, but this year I have some special permission. Here are a few snapshots of me and the guys working.

Eels

As many of you know I'm back in New Brunswick. And its been a week now. Although it kind of feels like its been a month. I've been trying to get back into the swing of things here, which actually never really happens I've learned, but I'm trying none the less.

So far this year has been an okay year here and I have enjoyed my time so far. I mean, as much as one can enjoy waking up at random hours of the night to fish eels out of the water. I would tell you about other things, but alas, I can't. Due to the fact that I have been swore to secrecy(I feel like a spy) and have to keep most things eel related on the down low.

There have been a few changes this year when it come to my job at Brunswick Aquaculture LTD.(Fixed it.) They have finished building the gym. Complete with free weights and a sweet cable machine. Though I think the best part of the new gym is the 80 inch TV and Xbox they got set up in there. Lets just say that most of what goes on in there isn't working out. Though I have had some good workouts.

They built a new attachment for rooming people. It has been inhabited by the guys from Ontario and is rightly called "#OntarioHouse". We even have an Ontario flag hanging in the window. Other then this just being a new place for us to sleep it has some other perks too. Less people staying here which means less noise which means more sleep which means happier Nolan. We have our own TV, Xbox, mini-fridge, and even a toaster over for cooking our snacks, which lately have consisted of pizza pockets, burritos, and hot dogs. hashtag healthy living.

After reading this you probably think that I don't even work while I'm here. Don't worry I do, I'm just really good at hyping up how much fun I have while being here. It's basically hanging out with the guys for 2 months. So there are some good times to be had.
